大願觀中因悲立願：初、即願體。二、遍於下，明長時心。三、以無量下，明廣大心。四、令得下，明第一心也。

In the contemplation on the great vow, one makes vows on the basis of compassion: first is the essence of the vow; second, from "throughout the ten directions" down, clarifies the mind [set upon] enduring time; third, from "with immeasurable skillful means" down, clarifies the vast mind; fourth, from "causing them to attain" down, clarifies the supreme mind.
