"There are four kinds of faith: First, faith in the root, meaning one takes delight in mindfully recollecting the Dharma of tathatā. Second, faith that the Buddha is endowed with boundless merits, meaning one constantly takes delight in prostrating with the crown of the head, reverently making offerings, hearing the true Dharma, practicing in accord with the Dharma, and dedicating [merit] toward all-knowledge. Third, faith that the Dharma has great benefit, meaning one constantly takes delight in practicing the perfections. Fourth, faith in the Saṅgha of correct practice, meaning one constantly makes offerings to the assembly of bodhisattvas and correctly cultivates practice that benefits oneself and benefits others."
