第六門中對界分別。此十二入對十八界，云何分別？依如《毘曇》，五根六塵，十八界中即為十一。意入之中分出六識，通前合為十八界義。若依《成實》，五根五塵，十八界中即為十一，法入之中開分六識，通前合為十八界義。彼宗六識，法入攝故。十二入義，略辨如是。

In the sixth gate, distinction is made in correlation to the realms. How are these twelve āyatanas distinguished in correlation to the eighteen realms? According to the Abhidharma, the five faculties and six objects constitute eleven among the eighteen realms. From within the mind āyatana, the six consciousnesses are divided out, which, together with the former, combine to make the meaning of the eighteen realms. According to the Tattvasiddhi, the five faculties and five objects constitute eleven among the eighteen realms; from within the dharma āyatana, the six consciousnesses are opened and divided, which, together with the former, combine to make the meaning of the eighteen realms, because in that school the six consciousnesses are subsumed under the dharma āyatana. The meaning of the twelve āyatanas is briefly distinguished in this way.
