"The next day at mealtime, Kāśyapa invited the Buddha again. The Buddha said: 'Go ahead, and I shall follow shortly.' Just as Kāśyapa departed, the Buddha went south tens of millions of leagues to the far border of Jambudvīpa, gathered harītakī fruit, filled his bowl with it, and returned. Before Kāśyapa returned, the Buddha was already seated upon his couch. When Kāśyapa arrived, he asked: 'How is it that you have arrived first?' The Buddha said: 'Just as you departed, I immediately went south to the far border of this land and gathered harītakī fruit, which is also fragrant and delicious.' [Kāśyapa] then took it and ate it. Having eaten his meal, the Buddha departed. Kāśyapa still thought: 'Although this great śramaṇa is spiritual, he is not equal to my Way, which is real!'
