"The next day, Kāśyapa went again to invite the Buddha. The Buddha said: 'Go ahead, and I shall follow shortly.' Just as Kāśyapa departed, the Buddha went west several thousand billions of leagues to the borders of Aparagodānīya, gathered āmalaka fruit, filled his bowl with it, and returned; arriving before Kāśyapa, he sat upon his couch. When Kāśyapa arrived afterward, he asked the Great Man of the Way: 'From where have you come?' The Buddha said: 'After you just departed, I went west to the land of Aparagodānīya and gathered āmalaka fruit, which is fragrant, delicious, and edible.' [Kāśyapa] then took it and ate it. Having eaten his meal, the Buddha departed. Kāśyapa thought again: 'Although this great śramaṇa is spiritual, he is still not equal to my Way, which is real!'
