謂宜先定聖心所以應會之道，為當唯照無相邪？為當咸覩其變邪？若覩其變，則異乎無相；若唯照無相，則無會可撫。

"I consider that one ought first to determine the way in which the sage mind responds and adapts: does it solely illuminate animitta? Or does it universally behold its mutations? If it beholds its mutations, then that differs from animitta; if it solely illuminates animitta, then there is no encounter to be adapted to."
