The first two lines clarify that the two dharmas depend upon each other: because it is existent in relation to non-existence, it is therefore existence. The next line follows the same rule. The next two lines follow from the preceding to give rise to the two names. From 'thus' downward positively clarifies that they depend upon each other for mutual establishment. From 'apart from existence' downward negatively shows that without mutual dependence neither can stand. From 'existence and non-existence generate each other' downward cites an analogy. Not only do existence and non-existence depend upon each other, but the same also applies to high and low, right and wrong, before and after, and so on.
