所以處有不有、居無不無。居無不無，故不無於無；處有不有，故不有於有。故能不出有無而不在有無者也。

Therefore, dwelling in being, he is not [attached to] being; abiding in non-being, he is not [attached to] non-being. Abiding in non-being and not being non-being, he does not treat non-being as non-being; dwelling in being and not being being, he does not treat being as being. Therefore, he can neither transcend being and non-being nor abide in being and non-being.
