1.38

五者，或為五乘，亦有三種：一謂一乘、三乘、小乘為五。二謂三乘、人、天為五。三謂佛與二乘、天及梵亦為五，並準釋可知。

Fifth, or making five vehicles, also has three kinds: First, taking the One Vehicle, the Three Vehicles, and the Hīnayāna to make five. Second, taking the Three Vehicles, humans, and devas to make five. Third, taking the Buddha, the two vehicles, devas, and Brahmās to make five; all can be understood by analogy with the explanations.
