Third, revealing non-knowing: when comprehending the dust mote, the dust mote is entirely knowing; in the end one does not know the dust mote with knowing. If one knows the dust mote with knowing, there is something that is not known. If one knows knowing, this non-knowing is not different from knowing. Now the dust mote is knowing itself; one does not further know the non-knower with non-knowing. There is simply no knowing of subject and object; it is not that there is no knowing. A sūtra states: "Manifesting all dharmas, each does not know the other."
