Fourth is the cessation of thoughtlessness through the manifestation of samādhi-light. "Samādhi-light" refers to the precious jewel of the svastika cakravartin's pure white jewel net in the Ekayāna teaching. This precious jewel's essence is clear and penetrating, illuminating the ten directions simultaneously; without thought it accomplishes affairs, and whatever is wished for is complied with. Although it manifests marvelous efficacy, its mind is without thoughts or deliberate reflection. The Avataṃsaka Sūtra states: "Just as a cakravartin accomplishes the supreme seven treasures, whose place of origin cannot be found, the nature of karma is also like this." If sentient beings enter this gate of great cessation and marvelous contemplation, they will accomplish affairs naturally without thought and without reflection; like that precious jewel illuminating both near and far simultaneously, it manifests distinctly and pervades empty space, unobstructed by the dust, mist, smoke, and clouds of the two vehicles and heterodox paths. Therefore it is called the cessation of thoughtlessness through the manifestation of samādhi-light.
