By interpretation, worldly lacquered items are added: namely worldly platters, bowls, cups, boxes, food utensils, spoons, chopsticks, and food tables, regardless of size or quantity, are all classified as heavy property. Because they are entirely worldly and not used for the Path, being identical to worldly clothing, they are strictly prohibited from being kept. Monastic robes and bowls are meant to differ from worldly conventions. If they were now permitted to be distributed, worldly attachments would not be eradicated. Therefore they are made to be classified as heavy property, permanently severing worldly currents.
