If so, why is it also said: 'Roaming the mind in the dharmadhātu like empty space'? And why is it also said: 'Ignorance and clarity are both ultimate emptiness'? This takes 'emptiness' as the starting point of discourse, but emptiness is non-emptiness, and also neither empty nor non-empty. And why is it said: 'In a single speck of dust there is a great chiliocosm's roll of scripture,' and 'Within the mind all Buddha-dharmas are complete, like seeds in the earth or a pellet of incense'? This takes 'existence' as the starting point of discourse. Existence is non-existence, and also neither existent nor non-existent. And why is it said: 'A single color or a single fragrance is nothing other than the middle way'? This takes the 'middle way' as the starting point of discourse. Being identical to the middle, it is identical to the extremes; it is neither extreme nor non-extreme, complete without lack. Do not cling to words and damage the perfect, falsely slandering the holy intention.
