Now to discuss more broadly the subsumption of dharmas, there are six points: first, subsuming all principles; second, subsuming all delusions; third, subsuming all wisdoms; fourth, subsuming all practices; fifth, subsuming all stages; sixth, subsuming all teachings. As for the sequence of these six: whether a buddha exists or does not exist, the nature of principle is eternally abiding; because of being deluded about principle, the delusions of birth and death arise; contemplating in accord with principle, wisdom is therefore discussed; through understanding, practice is established; through practice, stages are realized; because stages are fulfilled, one teaches others. The sequences of phenomena and principle, understanding and practice, cause and effect, self and other, are all completely subsumed by calming and contemplation.
