三、技能者，醫方、卜筮、泥木、彩畫、棊書、呪術等是也。皮文美角，膏煎鐸毀，己自害身，況修出世之道，而當樹林招鳥，腐氣來蠅，豈不摧折污辱乎？

Third, crafts and skills: medical recipes, divination, plastering and carpentry, painting, chess, calligraphy, spells, and the like. Patterned hides and beautiful horns [bring hunting], fat causes boiling and bells bring destruction—these harm one's own body. How much more so when cultivating the supramundane Path: should one plant trees to attract birds or rot meat to bring flies? Would this not bring ruin and defilement?
