5.148

又善男子！月開蓮華，日興作務；商應隨主，彩畫須膠。坯不遇火，無須臾用；盲不得導，一步不前。行無觀智，亦復如是。一切種智以觀為根本，無量功德之所莊嚴。善巧方便，種種緣喻，廣讚於觀，生其功德。是名「隨便宜以觀安心」。

“Furthermore, good man! The moon opens the lotus flower, and the sun sets tasks in motion; a merchant must follow his master, and color painting requires glue. Unbaked clay, if it meets no fire, cannot be used for a single moment; a blind man, without a guide, cannot step forward a single pace. Practice without the wisdom of contemplation is also like this. Sarvākārajñatā takes contemplation as its root and is adorned by immeasurable virtues.” With skillful means and various causes and parables, one extensively praises contemplation, generating his virtues. This is called “calming the mind by contemplating in accordance with suitability.”
