If you grasp the mind as existent, existence is precisely arising. What sort of arising is yours? Is it the arising of the fivefold stopping [of mind], the general and specific smṛtyupasthānas, heat, summits, patience, and the highest worldly dharmas? Is it the arising of the true comprehension of the patience with suffering? Is it the arising of repeated deliberation and reflection? Is it the arising of the dry-wisdom semblance path? Is it the arising of the eight persons seeing the truths? Is it the arising of sporting in supernormal powers and taking vows to support habit-energies? Is it the arising of the semblance understanding of the three ranks of worthies subduing the path? Is it the arising of the true understanding of the ten stages of sages? Is it the arising of the semblance path of the iron wheel? Is it the arising of the true path of the copper wheel? Or is it the arising of mastery pervading the dharmadhātu? Examining your grasping mind against all these kinds of arising, it possesses not the slightest fraction of any of them. Yet you claim it is not a view—what then is a view?
