6.105

若細論，一一品復有無量品，一一禪復有無量禪。通明、背捨等，直置諸禪發時，已自不可說，況復禪禪品品。品品之內，復有三假、四觀等句，其數難知。若准見惑四十里水，此緣一諦，應是一十里水。不橫起故，稱之一渧。重數甚多，亦可十里。

If treated in detail, each grade again has limitless grades, and each dhyāna again has limitless dhyānas. Even leaving aside the arising of the dhyānas such as the penetrating luminosities and the renunciations, which are already ineffable, how much more so for each dhyāna and each grade! Within each grade there are again the propositions of the three provisionalities, the four contemplations, and so forth, the number of which is difficult to fathom. If based on the delusions of view being forty li of water, since this accords with a single truth, it should be ten li of water. Because it does not arise horizontally, it is called a single drop. Its layers are extremely numerous, so it may also be ten li.
