6.134

雖是下根，欣樂不同，諸聖作論，復開為四。樂聞有者，說《阿毘曇》，生其小善，破其五濁，因此方便見於真諦。樂聞無者，說《成實論》，生其小善，破惡入真。樂聞有無，說《昆勒論》，生善破惡入真。樂聞非有非無者，為說《離有無經》，生善破惡入真。是為入假菩薩作四論，申四門，授四藥，治諸病云云。

Although they are of inferior faculties, their delights and aspirations differ, so the holy ones composed treatises and further opened them into four. For those who delight in hearing of existence, they expounded the Abhidharma, giving rise to their minor good, destroying their five turbidities, and through this expedient means enabling them to see the true truth. For those who delight in hearing of non-existence, they expounded the Tattvasiddhi-śāstra, giving rise to their minor good, destroying evil, and entering the true. For those who delight in hearing of both existence and non-existence, they expounded the Guṇanirdeśa-śāstra, giving rise to good, destroying evil, and entering the true. For those who delight in hearing of neither existence nor non-existence, they expounded the Sūtra on Transcending Existence and Non-Existence, giving rise to good, destroying evil, and entering the true. This is the bodhisattva entering the provisional to compose four treatises, clarify four gates, and dispense four medicines to cure all illnesses, and so forth.
