8.149

忍相發者：或見能忍人；或見身行忍事；或自見其身端正淨潔，手脚嚴整，世所希有；或見端正忍人來稱讚忍。是忍報果相。或直發忍心，又解忍法門。是名忍習因發相。前、後、俱、雜，可以意知。

As for the manifestation of signs of patience: one may see a person capable of patience; or see oneself practicing acts of patience; or see one's own body upright and pure, with limbs and feet handsome and regular, rare in the world; or see an upright, patient person come and praise patience. These are signs of retribution effects of patience. Or one may directly give rise to a patient mind and furthermore understand the Dharma-door of patience. This is called the manifestation of habituated causes of patience. Earlier, later, together, or mixed can be understood by inference.
