As for the manifestation of the chuti: when a person is sitting [in meditation], it may cling to the head and face, or cling to the person's body, falling and climbing back up, continually tossing and turning. Although there is no severe pain, it is irritating and hard to bear. Or it may drill into the person's ears, eyes, or nose, or embrace, strike, and poke them, as if something were there, yet it cannot be grasped; driven away, it returns again, chattering and twittering to disturb the person's ears. This ghost has a face resembling a lute, with four eyes and two mouths (and so forth).
