8.45

初四句者：不斷煩惱不出涅槃、不斷煩惱出涅槃、不斷煩惱亦出亦不出、不斷煩惱非出非不出。一謂體法二乘，二謂體法出假菩薩，三謂體法亦空亦假菩薩，四謂體法真理。

The first four propositions are: not severing defilements and not emerging from nirvāṇa; not severing defilements and emerging from nirvāṇa; not severing defilements, and both emerging and not emerging; not severing defilements, and neither emerging nor not emerging. The first refers to the two vehicles of embodying dharmas; the second refers to bodhisattvas who embody dharmas and emerge into the provisional; the third refers to bodhisattvas who embody dharmas and are both in emptiness and the provisional; the fourth refers to the true principle of embodying dharmas.
