Next, illnesses arising from maladjustment and one-sidedness in using contemplation: when first entering the womb, thought arises to attract the mother, and the mother then thinks of the five: forms, sounds, scents, tastes, and tangible objects. With the movement of a single hair's breath, it becomes water; water becomes blood; blood becomes flesh; flesh forms the five sense faculties and the five viscera. Now, when a meditator has excessive thinking and contemplation, it damages the five viscera and causes illness. If one attends excessively to forms, it stirs the liver; if one attends excessively to sounds, it stirs the kidneys; if one attends excessively to scents, it stirs the lungs; if one attends excessively to tastes, it stirs the heart; if one attends excessively to tangibles, it stirs the spleen.
