Headache, red and painful eyes, heat in the lips and mouth, sores encircling the nose, sudden abdominal pain, deafness in both ears, and stiffness in the neck—for the above six illnesses, one must establish an object-domain between the two feet and fasten the mind to it. If in a moment there is watery abdominal distension and acute pain, simply concentrate the mind single-mindedly on the object-domain. If the mind feels suffocated, rest for a short while. When slightly better, get up again, lean firmly, and practice the previous method. If one feels slight relief, all the more must one apply the treatment. If because of this the waist and feet develop acute pain, imagine a pit ten feet deep beneath both feet, shift the previous object-domain to the bottom of the pit, and focus the mind upon it; it will naturally heal. It is essential to be in a quiet room.
