三、用息為治者：夫色心相依而息，譬樵、火相藉而煙。瞻煙清濁，知樵臊濕；察息強軟，驗身健病。若身行風橫起，則痛痒成病，何暇用心？須急治之！

Third, regarding using breath as treatment: form and mind rely upon each other to breathe, just as firewood and fire rely upon each other to produce smoke. By observing whether the smoke is clear or turbid, one knows whether the firewood is pungent or damp; by examining whether the breath is harsh or soft, one diagnoses whether the body is healthy or diseased. If wind activity in the body arises violently, pain and itch become illness, so what leisure is there to apply the mind? One must urgently treat it!
