3.112

復次，二十種邪中，隨有發一邪法，若與九十六種道鬼神法，一鬼神法相應，而不覺識者，即念彼道，行彼法，於所得法中，鬼神隨念便入。因是證鬼神法門，鬼加其勢力，或發諸深邪定，及智慧辯才，知世吉凶，神通奇異，現希有事，感動眾生，廣行邪化，或大作惡，破人善根，或雖作善，而所行偽雜。世人無智，但見異人，謂是賢聖，深心信伏。然其內心顛倒，專行鬼法，常以鬼法教人，故信行之者，則破正戒，破正見，破威儀，破淨命。或時噉食糞穢，裸形無恥，不敬三尊、父母、師長；或毀壞經書、形像、塔寺，作諸逆罪，斷滅善根，現平等相；或自讚說所行平等，故於非道無障無礙，毀他修善，云非正道；或說無因無果，或說邪因邪果。

Furthermore, among the twenty kinds of corruption, if any one corrupt phenomenon arises, and it accords with any one spirit-deity method among the methods of the ninety-six paths of spirit-deities, and one fails to recognize it, one will dwell on that path and practice that method; within the method attained, the spirit-deity enters according to one's thoughts. Because of this, one realizes the Dharma gate of that spirit-deity, and the spirit augments one's power; one may then manifest various deep corrupt absorptions, as well as wisdom and eloquence, knowing worldly fortune and misfortune, possessing extraordinary supernormal powers, displaying rare marvels, moving sentient beings, and widely disseminating corrupt conversions; or one commits great evil, destroying people's roots of goodness; or, although doing good, what one practices is counterfeit and mixed. Worldly people lack wisdom; seeing only an extraordinary person, they consider them a sage and submit to them with deep conviction. However, their internal mind is inverted, exclusively practicing the spirit method and constantly teaching people with the spirit method. Therefore, those who have faith in and practice it will violate the correct precepts, correct views, decorum, and pure livelihood. Sometimes they eat feces and filth, go naked without shame, and fail to respect the Three Jewels, parents, and teachers; or they destroy scriptures, images, stupas, and monasteries, commit unpardonable offenses, eradicate roots of goodness, and display an appearance of equality; or they praise themselves, saying their conduct is equal, and therefore unhindered and unobstructed in corrupt paths, while slandering others who cultivate good, claiming it is not the correct path; or they assert no cause and no effect, or assert corrupt causes and corrupt effects.
