First, the earth-wheel: Earth has two meanings: first, upholding without moving; second, generating myriad things. If through stopping the practitioner realizes the concentration of the anāgamya, the mind suddenly becomes limpid, and one naturally perceives the marks of body and mind to be empty, obliterated into absorption; the absorption-dharma upholds the mind without moving, and hence it is called 'upholding'. Because the anāgamya generates the various virtues of the first dhyāna, the matter is identical to generating myriad things.
