Now, within these nine Dharma gates, there are two kinds of paths of counteractive undefiledness: first, the path of decomposing dharmas; second, the path of non-decomposing dharmas. The path of decomposing dharmas refers to the nine notions, eight recollections, and ten notions. If one cultivates these three well and generates genuine undefiledness, one becomes an arhat of decomposing dharmas. Second, the path of non-decomposing dharmas refers to the liberations, stations of mastery, totality spheres, nine sequential absorptions, lion's sprint, transcending, and other samādhis. Being fully endowed with these dhyānas and generating genuine undefiledness, one becomes a great arhat of non-decomposing dharmas.
