Furthermore, if the practitioner penetrates the emptiness of breath, they do not see the aggregates, sense bases, elements, or other dharmas, nor do they see the various marks of mundane and supramundane dharmas. To destroy the various arbitrary conjectures, confused attachments to dharmas, and cycling through the six destinies of sentient beings, there is that which is expounded, yet in reality there is nothing expounded and nothing demonstrated, because the listener hears nothing and attains nothing. At that time, although they practice the gift of Dharma, they do not grasp at the gift of Dharma, acting without indebtedness toward them while benefiting all. For example, the great earth, empty space, the sun, and the moon benefit the world without having any intention toward things and without seeking repayment for favors. When the bodhisattva penetrates the emptiness of the nature of breath and practices the dānapāramitā of the equal gift of Dharma, benefiting sentient beings, it is also like this. Know that the bodhisattva knows that the nature of breath is empty, not apprehending stinginess or the perfections, yet is able to clearly distinguish stinginess and the perfections, precisely because they are unapprehendable. Knowing that the nature of breath is empty and being replete with śīla-, kṣānti-, vīrya-, dhyāna-, and prajñāpāramitā is also like this. Herein, one should revolve the characteristics of each perfection in detail, revealing and distinguishing them for the good sons and good daughters who seek the Buddha path.
