十四、觀離欲。修特勝者，離虛空處定、入識處時，常以觀慧內自推撿，欲離虛空處。離欲之心，是故發識處定，即能觀達識定虛誑不實，心不愛著，故云觀離欲。若對念處，猶屬法念處觀。

14. Contemplating detachment. When one who cultivates the superior stages leaves the concentration of the base of boundless space and enters the base of boundless consciousness, one constantly investigates inwardly with contemplative wisdom, desiring to leave the base of boundless space. With this mind detached from desire, when the concentration of the base of boundless consciousness arises, one can contemplate and comprehend that the concentration of consciousness is illusory and unreal, and with the mind having no craving attachment, it is called 'contemplating detachment.' Correlated with the bases of mindfulness, it still belongs to the contemplation of mindfulness of phenomena.
