二、分別陀羅尼。得是陀羅尼，諸眾生諸法，大小好惡，分別悉知，故分別陀羅尼，即是義持。

Second is the discerning dhāraṇī. When this dhāraṇī is attained, regarding all sentient beings and all dharmas, whether large or small, good or bad, one discerns and knows them completely; hence it is the discerning dhāraṇī, which is retention of meanings.
