Third is the poison of delusion. The mind of confusion and blindness is called delusion. If one is confused about all phenomenal and noumenal dharmas, clouded by ignorance and not understanding, confusedly grasping in error and initiating various wrong actions, that is the poison of delusion, also called ignorance (avidyā). Ignorance has two kinds: first, conjoined ignorance, which arises in association with the eighty-eight anuśayas under the five stages of the three realms; second, unassociated ignorance, which is the fifteen delusion anuśayas under the five stages of the three realms.
