Next, the immovable samādhi destroys existence among the Four Heavenly Kings. These gods guard the lands and travel through the worlds, their physical retributions being in flux; this constitutes the movement of karmic retribution, the movement of views and thoughts, the movement of ignorance, and the movement of nescience. By single-mindedly cultivating good without moving, as well as cultivating immovable karma such as the [eight] liberations, they destroy the movement of karmic retribution. By the immovable nature of true wisdom, they destroy the movement of views and thoughts. By the immovable nature of the wisdom that emerges into the provisional, they destroy the movement of ignorance. By the immovable nature of the wisdom of the middle way, like the peak of Mount Sumeru, they destroy the movement of nescience. Through the power of cultivation, they personally realize the three kinds of immobility; through the power of loving-kindness and compassion, they destroy the three movements of others. Therefore, this samādhi is named the immovable samādhi.
