然如前所列四諦名數，通下三教，但是隨教廣狹勝劣，生滅、無生、無量、無作不同耳，故向下名數更不再列。然四諦之中分世、出世，前二諦為世間因果（苦果、集因），後二諦為出世間因果（滅果、道因）。

Now, the names and numerical categories of the four truths listed above apply throughout the three teachings below as well; they differ only according to whether the teaching is broad or narrow, superior or inferior, and whether they are [the four truths of] arising and ceasing, non-arising, immeasurable, or non-contrived; therefore, their names and numerical categories will not be listed again below. Furthermore, the four truths are divided into the worldly and the supramundane: the first two truths are worldly cause and effect (suffering is the effect, origination is the cause), and the latter two truths are supramundane cause and effect (cessation is the effect, the path is the cause).
