Next, the ten abodes are explained: 1. the abode of generating the aspiration (completely severing delusions of views of the three realms, equal to the first fruit of the Tripitaka teaching and the Grounds of the Eight Intelligents and of Vision of the shared teaching), 2. preparing the ground, 3. practice, 4. noble birth, 5. endowment with expedients, 6. correct mind, 7. non-retrogression (the above six abodes completely sever delusions of thought of the three realms and attain non-retrogression of rank, equal to the two Buddhas of the Tripitaka and shared [teachings]), 8. youth, 9. prince of the Dharma, and 10. coronation (the above three abodes sever the dust and sand [delusions] within the realms and subdue the dust and sand [delusions] beyond the realms, of which the preceding two teachings know neither the names nor items). They are also called the nature of acquired seeds; using the contemplation of entering emptiness from the provisional, which is the principle of ultimate truth, they open the eye of wisdom and achieve all-knowledge, traveling three hundred yojanas.
