問：事境暫隔，故《扶宗》云「初觀內心，未涉外境」，仁何破云「理境本融，生佛同趣」？內觀如何作意去取耶？

Question: Phenomenal objects are temporarily separated; hence the Fuzong says, 'Initially contemplating the internal mind, one has not yet engaged external objects.' Why do you refute it, saying, 'The realm of principle is originally fused; sentient beings and buddhas share the same tendency'? How could internal contemplation deliberately make rejections and acceptances?
