既從變造而論，此則屬事，非謂外境之事也。既推過在心，故唯觀內心。觀心之法不出二種，二觀若成內心則淨。以淨心歷外法時，自然法法皆淨，故不論外境修觀也。

Since this is discussed in terms of transformation and creation, this pertains to phenomena; it does not refer to the phenomena of external objects. Since the fault is located in the mind, one only contemplates the inner mind. The methods of contemplating the mind do not exceed these two kinds; if these two contemplations succeed, the inner mind is purified. When one traverses external dharmas with a purified mind, naturally dharma after dharma is purified; hence one does not speak of cultivating contemplation on external objects.
