上人今來既省正釋料揀十法之文，殊無附法、約行兩觀之義，乃曲巧自立，令久修、始習二種行人自作兩種觀心，乃云：文中所談備該因果兼示能觀。誰當讀之不思己行，欲以自思己行便乃自修兩種觀心也。

You, Reverend, now realizing that the text directly explaining and selecting the ten dharmas is entirely devoid of the two meanings of contemplation—appending to teachings and in terms of practice—have deviously and cleverly established on your own that the two kinds of practitioners, those of long practice and beginners, personally perform the two kinds of contemplation of mind, and thus you said: 'What is discussed in the text fully covers cause and effect and additionally indicates the contemplating [agent]; who could read this and not reflect on their own practice?' You wish, by means of 'personally reflecting on one's own practice,' to thereby personally cultivate the two kinds of contemplation of mind.
