若此玄從果至因而說，又自是釋迦能觀尚過菩薩修證，豈是初心境觀？何得方談果法即廢附法觀心耶？

If this Xuan[yi] speaks from the fruit down to the cause, and moreover this is Śākyamuni's own contemplating [agent], which even surpasses the cultivation and realization of bodhisattvas, how could it be the object and contemplation of beginners? How can you, merely by discussing the fruit dharmas, abolish contemplating the mind by appending to teachings?
