仰白十方三寶、釋迦本師、彌陀慈父、寶勝如來、觀世音菩薩等，惟願慈悲證知護念。今有水族（或云飛禽若干頭數），為他網捕，將入死門。比丘某甲（或云弟子）修菩薩行，發慈慜心，行放生業，作長壽因。贖其身命，却收逍遙。仍順大乘（或云仍請比丘隨順大乘）方等經典，授與三歸，及稱十號，十二因緣皆當為說。但以此類眾生本為愚癡及諸惡業，今受異報，六識昏迷，不能了知方等深法。仰乞三寶靈通威德冥加，令此眾生心開意解，於深妙法速得相應，轉報受生，早得解脫。慈慜故（此句三唱）。

“Respectfully I address the Three Jewels of the ten directions, our Fundamental Teacher Śākyamuni, our Kind Father Amitābha, Prabhūtaratna Tathāgata, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, and others: We only pray that in your loving-kindness and compassion you bear witness, protect, and be mindful of us. Here are aquatic creatures (or say: winged fowl, such-and-such number of head) that have been netted and trapped by others and are about to enter the gates of death. Bhikṣu so-and-so (or say: disciple) cultivates the bodhisattva practice, generates a mind of compassion, carries out the deed of releasing living beings, and establishes the cause of longevity. We ransom their bodily lives and return them to ease and freedom. Furthermore, according with the Mahāyāna (or say: furthermore inviting a bhikṣu to accord with the Mahāyāna) Vaipulya scriptures, we confer upon them the three refuges, recite the ten epithets, and shall explain the twelve links of dependent origination to them all. However, because this class of sentient beings was originally mired in ignorance and various evil karmas, they now undergo this alien retribution, their six consciousnesses are benighted, and they are unable to comprehend the profound Dharma of the Vaipulya. We look up and beg the Three Jewels in their spiritual penetration, awe-inspiring virtue, and hidden assistance to cause these sentient beings’ minds to open and understanding to unfold, so that they quickly harmonize with the profound and wondrous Dharma, transform their retribution, receive [auspicious] rebirth, and swiftly attain liberation. Out of your loving-kindness and pity.” (Chant this sentence three times.)
