「又《阿彌陀經》云：『說經之日，阿彌陀佛成佛已來，於今十劫。』阿彌陀佛既得成佛，念佛定得往生。又本師釋迦說，專念佛名亦為難事，我行此念佛得無上菩提。說《阿彌陀經》意者，為本師釋迦因中發願。是故《法華經中》說：『我本立誓願，欲令一切眾，如我等無異，如我昔所願，今者已滿足，化一切眾生，皆令入佛道。』此是釋迦佛立誓願處。

"Furthermore, the Amitābha-sūtra says: 'On the day this sūtra was preached, it has been ten kalpas since Amitābha Buddha attained Buddhahood.' Since Amitābha Buddha has already attained Buddhahood, practicing buddhānusmṛti will definitely bring rebirth. Moreover, our original teacher Śākyamuni said: 'Exclusively mindful of the Buddha's name is also a difficult matter; by practicing this buddhānusmṛti, I attained unexcelled bodhi.' The intention behind preaching the Amitābha-sūtra lies in the vows made by our original teacher Śākyamuni during his causal stage. Therefore, the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka-sūtra says: 'The vow I originally made was to cause all the multitude to be equal to me, with no distinction; what I formerly vowed is now fulfilled: converting all sentient beings, I cause them all to enter the Buddha Path.' This is where Śākyamuni Buddha established his vows.
