師看上座來禮拜，師曰：「來作什麼？」云：「不為和尚來。」師曰：「若禮尊者，某甲則偏坐。」
The Master saw a senior monk come to pay homage. The Master said, 'What have you come to do?' [The monk] said, 'I have not come for the upādhyāya.' The Master said, 'If you pay homage to the Venerable One, I will sit to one side.'
