延慶端禪師有人問：「蚯蚓斬為兩段，兩頭俱動，佛性在阿那頭？」慶展兩手。師別曰：「即今問底在阿那頭？」

Someone asked Chan Master Duan of Yanqing, 'When an earthworm is cut into two pieces and both ends move, on which end is the Buddha-nature?' Qing stretched out both hands. The Master gave an alternative turning word: 'On which end is the one who is asking right now?'
