1.37

師與密師伯行次，指路傍一院，曰：「裏面有人，說心說性。」伯曰：「是誰？」師曰：「被師伯一問，直得去死十分。」伯曰：「說心說性底誰？」師曰：「死中得活。」

While the Master was walking with Senior Uncle Mi, he pointed to a cloister by the roadside and said, "Inside there is someone speaking of mind and speaking of nature." Uncle said, "Who is it?" The Master said, "Questioned by you, Senior Uncle, he is driven ninety percent toward death." Uncle said, "Who is the one speaking of mind and speaking of nature?" The Master said, "Within death, he finds life."
