師有時云：「真空不壞有，真空不異色。」僧便問：「作麼生是真空？」師云：「還聞鐘聲麼？」僧云：「此是鐘聲。」師云：「驢年夢見麼？」

The Master sometimes said: "True emptiness does not destroy existence; true emptiness is not different from form." A monk then asked: "What is true emptiness?" The Master said: "Do you hear the sound of the bell?" The monk said: "This is the sound of the bell." The Master said: "Will you dream of it in the year of the donkey?"
