2.122

師因齋次，拈起匙筯云：「我不供養南僧，秖供養北僧。」時有僧問：「為什麼不供養南僧？」師云：「我要鈍置伊。」僧云：「為什麼秖供養北僧？」師云：「一箭兩垛。」有僧拈問：「秖如前意作麼生？」師云：「好即同榮。」

During a meal, the Master picked up a spoon and chopsticks and said, "I do not make offerings to southern monks; I only make offerings to northern monks." At the time, a monk asked, "Why do you not make offerings to southern monks?" The Master said, "I want to foil them." The monk said, "Why do you only make offerings to northern monks?" The Master said, "One arrow hits two targets." A monk brought this up and asked, "Just what was the former intention?" The Master said, "When it is good, we share the glory together."
