舉：「孚上座參雪峯，峯聞乃集眾。孚到法堂上顧視雪峯，便下看知事，明日却上禮拜云：『某甲昨日觸忤和尚。』峯云：『知是般事便休。』」時有僧問師：「作麼生是觸忤和尚處？」師便打。

He cited: "When Senior Fu went to Xuefeng, Xuefeng heard of it and gathered the assembly. When Fu arrived at the Dharma hall, he looked at Xuefeng, then went down to see the administrative monks. The next day he went up again, bowed, and said: 'Yesterday I offended the Upādhyāya.' Xuefeng said: 'Knowing it is such an affair, let it rest.'" At that time a monk asked the Master: "What was the place where he offended the Upādhyāya?" The Master hit him.
