舉古云：「一言纔舉，大地全收。」師云：「且道，是什麼言？」自云：「春鳥啼時西嶺上。」遂令僧：「爾問我。」僧便問：「是什麼言？」師云：「噫。」

[Yunmen] brought up an ancient saying: "The moment a single word is raised, the great earth is completely gathered in." The Master said, "Tell me, what word is it?" He said himself, "When the spring birds cry on the western ridge." He then ordered a monk, "You ask me." The monk then asked, "What word is it?" The Master said, "Alas!"
