舉：「馬大師云：『一切語言是提婆宗，以此箇為主。』」師云：「好語秖是無人問？」僧便問：「如何是提婆宗？」師云：「西天九十六種，爾是最下種。」

[Yunmen] brought up [the following]: "Master Ma said, 'All words are the school of Deva; take this one as the primary.'" The Master said, "Fine words, only there is no one who asks." A monk then asked, "What is the school of Deva?" The Master said, "Among the ninety-six kinds [of non-Buddhists] in India, you are of the lowest kind."
