舉：「馬大師云：『一切語言是提婆宗，以者箇為主。』雲門大師云：『好語，只是無人問我。』僧便問：『如何是提婆宗？』雲門云：『西天九十六種，爾是最下種。』」師云：「赤幡被者僧奪了也。」便下座。

He brought up: "Great Master Ma said: 'All words are the Deva school; take this as the primary.' Great Master Yunmen said: 'Fine words, it's just that no one asks me.' A monk then asked: 'What is the Deva school?' Yunmen said: 'Among the ninety-six kinds in the Western Heavens, you are of the lowest kind.'" The Master said: "The red banner has been snatched away by this monk." He then stepped down from the seat.
